We are a small firm, based in Grantham, who travel nationwide, which specialising in taxation matters of clergy of all denominations. We offer a complete personal income tax service to individuals as well. The purpose of this site is to explain what we do, who we are, and what we believe in. The business was started in 1969 by Reverend Frank Chalk, Peter Chalk's father.Peter joined the firm in 1987, having previously trained as an accountant and worked for a local firm of accountants. For nearly 50 years we have provided a high quality service assisting with personal tax returns and problems.
Services
Unlike most firms of Accountants, only a small proportion of whose work involves personal tax, our team work exclusively in personal tax and are thus more conversant with the current regime. Also, since we are not subsidising less profitable areas such as accounts preparation we can keep our costs down.
There is a legal requirement for you to keep records. Generally you should keep records for 2 years after the tax year end- 6 years if you have income from property or self-employment. There are many different ways to keep records. Probably the easiest way is in an analysis book or computer spreadsheet format- do remember to make regular backup copies if you use the latter method!
It usually takes around 30 minutes to gather the information necessary to complete a personal tax return. After the tour finishes clients are welcome to visit our office in Grantham, by prior appointment, at any time of the year. Please print it out and then fold like a chinese menu. In matters financial, it pays to seek expert advice.
