Dunkley's Chartered Accountants

My account and many others were sold on to Dunkleys by a wonderful accountant who's decided to retire. I'd been with my previous accountant for around 35 years with absolutely no problems at all. He always had time to deal with issues - this was often done face to face with a cup of tea and a lot of jokes. Everything was always done professionally and on time.

My experience with Dunkleys has ended with me getting a late payment fine from HMRC for 100 because my accounts weren't forwarded on time. I've written to them to ask if my accounts have finally been forwarded to HMRC. I haven't heard anything. I still have had no explaination as to what went wrong. And, again, I still don't know if my accounts are with HMRC. Right now, that's all I need to know. I have paid the fine and am looking to arrange my tax affairs elsewhere. A sorry end. Avoid.

Contacted this firm to be taken on as a client. Initial phone call all fine but there-after, subsequent phone calls and emails met with complete inaction. Eventually gave up and have engaged a different (larger) firm. I understand that Dunkley's may not wish to take on a relatively low value client such as myself at this time, and that is their right, but I would have expected the professional courtesy to be told this rather than just be blanked, which I found very unprofessional.

Dunkleys are superb Chartered Accountants. They always get back to you quickly and offer helpful excellent advice and services. Joe Weston has been especially helpful. We feel very confident with his professional guidance and help.

I was with Dunkleys from 2013 and had no problem until my accountant retired a few years later. Since then I have had an awful experience with Dunkleys that has ended up costing my company greatly. It seems now there are too many people dealing with the accounts using an online system you could set up yourself. Things get missed, delayed, emails are always met with out of office replies and their costs have increased dramatically for what can only be described as sub standard accounting with dreadful customer service. There are much better accounting firms for a fraction of the price. Avoid at all costs
