Companies are usually owned by their founders or by shareholders who ultimately are financial investors. The common link is that they have key employees who are fundamental to the day to day successful running of these businesses. Many owners want their key management to be both loyal and help grow the company and be rewarded if the business is sold.
Employee share schemes have the potential to motivate staff by providing long term tax efficient incentives. In some cases existing shareholders may not want to give them actual shares in the company or they may not want them to leave still owning shares in the company so flexibility is crucial.

I own and manage a tour operator and have been a customer of Elman Wall for a few years now. I never thought about changing them: great value, an all-in solution, extra services beyond what you would expect, personal touch, a great gathering a year of clients and industry speakers/experts that I am sure does not come cheap but it is free to us, great introductions.
I could go for ever. But this year it has all taken a new meaning when we renew our ATOL license: without them it would have been impossible. Big thanks to everyone and a personal special thanks to Yasin

We appointed Elman Wall as our accountants shortly before the C-19 pandemic hit, and I'm extremely glad we did. The quality of their on-going advice and information (including their regular Zoom webinars) throughout the pandemic has been excellent. In particular the help and advice of Yasin Khandwalla was invaluable in securing our ATOL licence in very challenging circumstances.
And my final point would be to echo one of the other reviews - Elman Wall are an accountancy firm with a personality, and that's something I look forward to enjoying as the travel industry recovers from the pandemic.

Congratulations to all at Elman Wall! I have just attended my first Director's Summit arranged by your firm and I have been hugely impressed. The day had pace, interest, relevance, humour and demonstrated consummate professionalism. I have taken away some 20 business ideas and will be briefing my staff on several fantastic ideas that were raised in the presentations.
My experience of Elman Wall prior to joining you as an Audit client was that you demonstrated good customer relations and communication. Since becoming a client those relations have moved up two more notches and I am looking forward to dealing with you all for a very long time! I wish to goodness I had taken you on as auditors 2 years ago. "Big mistake.big mistake.huge!" If you ever look to put prospective customers in touch with satisfied clients who would give an honest appraisal of Elman Wall, feel free send them my way as my response would start with "simply sensational" and then I would expand. You more than deserve to win the Accountancy awards that you feature on your website. Congratulations on a sensational day. I will be sure to attend future events!

'This year we made the decision to move our audit and tax work to a larger firm and chose Elman Wall, who specialize in the travel industry. Having just completed our annual audit, we feel reassured to know we are complying with the rules and regulations. Yasin and his team are brilliant at handling our queries, providing clear advice and guidance in a prompt and efficient manner. We would not hesitate to recommend their services' Teresa Barker Finance Director The Group Company (UK) Ltd

'Moving to Elman Wall at such an early stage in our business seemed a little premature but we were ambitious and wanted to grow quickly. I was sure Elman Wall were the right firm to support our growth and I haven't been disappointed. The team have been integral to our recent success. This is not just down to their unrivalled knowledge of the travel industry, their extensive contact list or their ability to drop everything and support us at the eleventh hour!
It is actually their spirited approach, encouragement, grounded advice and faith in our business that has been most valuable. We couldn't have achieved 200% growth this year, without them.'

Elman Wall were recommended to me by a trusted colleague. In all honesty, I was dreading my first meeting, as at only 26 years old, whilst the idea of starting a business was exciting initially, I very quickly came to realise the layers of knowledge I was lacking when it came to the 'behind the scenes' legal, financial and accounting details which were required.
After the meeting, I immediately felt more comfortable, and also learned a very important lesson. I didn't need to understand everything, if I was able to work with people who could explain things in a logical, clear way. Most importantly, I liked and trusted them which was hugely important to me. I'll save the the middle chapters, but it's now 11 years later, and I am happy to say Elman Wall were with me every step of the way as I grew my business to a team of just under 50 people, and more recently, also successfully navigated a potentially complex sale process.
They're a great team, who genuinely care about their clients and take care and pride over their work. I know my limited initial understanding of the space made me a problematic client at first, but I never felt that way at all. They were always willing to help. Sadly, following our exit, we've been asked to move to another firm, who are much larger than Elman Wall.
This change has really starkly highlighted what a gem of a business Elman Wall is. Thanks to the team there, but a special shout out to Russel who helped us so much during our deal process.

I was introduced to Jonathan & Yasin via a work colleague a few years ago and immediately felt confident in the way they run their business for the benefit of their clients. I have always been made to feel valued and successful! The business support, tax planning and general accounting support has been exemplary and I have complete confidence in the whole team helping me achieve my business goals.

As a small business owner it is incredibly important to find the right infrastructure and support to help your business run smoothly and therefore hiring the right accountants is essential. When I hired Elman Wall I took the view that although they were more expensive than most, they appeared to have a good reputation and it would therefore be worth the extra expense, sadly I could not have been more wrong.
I was with Elman Wall for approximately four years, in the first two years they were excellent and my account handler (auditor) was very good, the accounts were done efficiently and on time and communication between us was fluid however in the following years they increased in size and seemed to lose interest and a whole host of errors started creeping in.
I was appointed a new auditor who told me he was still undertaking his exams, whilst he was a nice guy mistakes were made and although I supplied him or his team (I often could not get hold of my appointed auditor) with my end of year accounts well in advance it took them months to come back to me resulting in me having to complain, after further complaints I was finally supplied with my pre Christmas draft accounts a week before we closed for Christmas which was an incredibly busy time for me.
As a result I ended up having to rush 'signing off' my end of year accounts in order to prevent penalties for late accounts. It was a nightmare. After complaining I was assured that this would not happen again however this was not the case and exactly the same thing happened the following year. After the second disastrous year in a row of badly managed accounting I decided I would terminate my contract, it was February when I gave them my notice and they agreed in light of the fact I was unhappy they would allow me 1 months notice period so my new accountants could begin with a new financial year starting April 1st. Payments to Elman Wall were made monthly so instead of paying one lump sum of 3,500 at the end of the financial year for accounting services (dealing with mostly VAT and the end of year accounts), I opted to spread the payments out to 12 monthly payments which turned out to be a massive mistake as when I handed in my notice I clarified that they needed to do my end of year accounts as I had already paid them for this service however they told me that I had terminated my contract and they were not obliged to do my end of year accounts.
As mentioned I am a small business and there is very little accounting to do throughout most of the year apart from quarterly VAT, I was therefore horrified that they were refusing to do my end of year accounts even though I had already paid them 3,500 and all they had done so far was the quarterly VAT. I have never written a review before but feel compelled to do so after being treated so badly.
After such a good start it seemed Elman Wall were happy to take my money but not provide the service they describe on their website or when I first met them in person. I hear they are good for medium size businesses but think twice before using them if you are a small business. My new accountants charge me half the amount Elman Wall charged me and not only do I get a great service they are also incredibly friendly and informative, they take an interest in my business and give good advice which is what should have happened with Elman Wall.
