Phinch Limited offers comprehensive tax advice and business accountancy that is down-to-earth and practical. We are based in Weston Super Mare, Somerset, and we offer assistance to individuals and businesses throughout the UK. We also regularly work alongside other professionals within the legal, accounting and financial services sectors to provide their clients with expert tax advice, either directly or on a sub-contracted basis. 
Phinch Limited was established in 2019 by Rachel Finch who set out to provide tax compliance and high-level advisory services to both UK citizens and US expats living in the UK., Rachel handed over the reins in July 2023 to David Parmenter and Seb Hassan-Ally. Our focus since then has been in creating exceptional client service using the latest technology and processes. David and Seb oversee the day-to-day workflow assisted by a highly skilled wider team which includes Bivitha Ramakrishnan as our resident US Enrolled Agent. 
For most people, income tax is something they regard as a 'necessary evil'. However, we all have to deal with it, and at times we might need some help with advanced tax planning, whether it's a about earnings from employment, profit from self-employed earnings, personal pensions, cryptocurrency investments, benefits received from an employer, income received from a trust, and possibly rental income. 
Financing any creative endeavour can be difficult. However, many companies that work within the UK's creative sector can benefit from significant tax breaks, thanks to the UK Government's Creative Industry Tax Relief (CITR) scheme. I will make this short and sweet. Do not use this firm if you want a service which is trouble free, I paid approx £1k for them to complete an ITIN application/US tax return. This was paid 30/6/2021 and I am still waiting 9/5/2023. I have tried to contact this firm for 12 months regarding this problem and been passed from pillar to post each time until today when they have informed me I will be refunded £420 of the approximately £1000 paid.

I have been a customer of Finch & Associates since 2020. When I first engaged with them, they were knowledgeable, helpful, and quick to respond to queries. Even though their fees were high, I was happy to pay for the good service.
Unfortunately, since signing up, their service has steadily gone downhill. Here are my experiences over the past 2 years:
- Extremely slow replying to queries. Sometimes months, with reminders
- Very high fees. At least 3x the cost of my new accountant
- Frustrating systems
- Multiple channels of communication so you never know who to contact
- Upselling expensive tax auditing services
- Asking for information that has already been provided
- Failure to explain tax rules that significantly affect payments
- Surly responses to complaints
Maybe I just had a bad experience, but based on the service I've received and the price paid I wouldn't recommend them.
