American citizens and green-card holders may have a Social Security Number (SSN) tax identification number.
When do IRS US tax returns need to be filed by our Enrolled Agents (EA) - Your Expat Taxes guide. This date is helpful for anyone British, Spanish or Hong Konger that lives in the United States. It is possible to submit the IRS form 4868 tax filing deadline extension request. Americans that live abroad get an automatic extension to file their 1040 tax return to the IRS for two months.

Charging Rolls Royce prices for a broken Skoda! Unqualified staff and more obsessed with getting a review after every call than actually delivering good service. Dont believe the reviews the typical client is somebody who is new to property who does not have a clue what a good firm does. At the prices they charge is a rip off and a bit scammy. Like those awful property training companies!

I stayed with Optimise for 1 and half year. My experience is they did not add any value on my property investment journey. I am a portfolio landlord. They do not review your tax situation nor does anything proactively pointing and guiding with for example future forecast in my tax payment etc and recommendations. They do say we can call anytime for advice but these calls are handled by non qualified people and they keep changing.
I would not recommend this firm. They will just do your tax return when it is due. What's the point to pay more to them when this can be done by any other accountancy firm (just tax return filling). To be honest i had no professional tax review in investments. Please take this as constructive feedback. Your clients are your business! I can't see how they have managed to collect so many good google reviews.

Had a zoom call with Simon, he was easy and professional to talk to, he knew exactly what I needed to enable me to move forward with my business plan, he identified various issues in the set up i had and was able offer a better alternative particularly as regards to reducing the amount of tax I was paying. for me it proved to be very helpful discussion and Simon given me confidence to move forward in the direction he suggests. Spoke to Jan Minty on a FREE video conference call for 20 minutes. I outlined my CGT issues relating to my BTL property. Jan was able to point me in the right direction to solve my problem. I purchased Optimise's CGT calculator and watched 4 videos as outlined by Jan. Following their advice Iam now equipped with a plan to mitigate my CGT as it relates to my 3 BTL properties. My call with Simon was extremely beneficial and helpful. Simon had the ability to really understand and engage with me during our Zoom call together which is sometimes difficult to do given the medium. All my questions were answered, as well as leaving me with challenging questions to reflection upon and answer. Additionally, the call allowed me to stress test my ideas and strategy to ensure I am doing the right thing for me.

Optimise Accountants contacted me after I had set up an initial free call with them saying they were unable to spend 30 mins with me asking them question about their services claiming I was too poor to be able to be their customer.

Sadly the person called up was a basic rate tax payer. We are explicit that our fees are too high for basic rate taxpayers. There is no point people spending their good money on an accountant where the costs exceed the benefit. The fact that we choose not to give out free tax advice is the choice of any firm. We have found that we have valuable information only for the potential client to go to a cheaper provider and let them know what we have told them. A sure way for someone to ruin your business.
