Ten years ago, I made the best decision of my business life. At that time, my accountant was nearing retirement, when I received a call asking if I would be interested in a meeting with Barry McGougan of TaxAssist Accountants. I'm glad I agreed because as they say, the rest is history. Barry immediately grasped what my accountancy requirements were, especially the problems I was having with PAYE and tax credits, and I felt a great weight being lifted from my shoulders.
The next improvement was moving me from a manual bookkeeping system that was taking me 1.5 days a week to maintain to a bookkeeping software that now only consumes 2hrs per week, leaving me with more time to concentrate on my business. 4 years ago with Barry's help and guidance I moved from being a sole trader to a Limited Company a move that has certainly saved on my tax bill.
This year, again with input from Barry I have opened another outlet in Saltcoats and my sister who had worked for me for the past 21 years became a Director and shareholder. I have come along way in the past 10 years and I can honestly say that if it had not been for the close relationship I have with Barry and his team at TaxAssist Accountants and the expert advice, guidance and hand holding they have provided me, I doubt very much if I could have acheived what I have.
I now regard Barry and his team of Lisa, Lesley and Graeme as an extension of my business always there when I need them. Nothing is ever a problem with them and every question (no matter how stupid) is answered. I look forward to many more years of working alongside TaxAssist Accountants Kilmarnock.
