Services
We are insolvency practitioners ("IPs") in Scotland and we do not accept appointments in other jurisdictions. We may, however, be able to assist you to contact reputable IPs in other areas, and IPs are welcome to contact us to exchange links and other information. CA is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland ("ICAS") and is authorised by ICAS to carry out insolvency work.
A voluntary arrangement ("CVA") is when a company makes an agreement (usually formally) with its creditors by proposing an arrangement (formally approved by the court), in which the company has agreed terms with its creditors for the settlement of its debts. A voluntary arrangement may be proposed by the administrator, a liquidator, or the directors.
Take advice from your local authority, citizen's advice bureau or an insolvency practitioner. Be extremely wary of advice from creditors (who will be mainly interested in securing repayment for themselves) or debt management companies who will take payments from you but may not be able to negotiate with creditors on your behalf.
