Established in 1976, we are a family business based in County Durham operating across the north of England and Scotland. Our story began in 1976. 45 years is a long time - in life as well as in business; and the last forty-five years have seen some huge changes not only within regions but across the whole of the UK. Governments have come and gone, policies and legislations have changed, forcing us to adapt. Throughout this time, the Banks Group has diversified from a small surface mining operator, to a waste management and property developer, to now one of the leading independent renewables developer/operators in the UK.
