Services
Our mission and values underlines the way that we organise our practice and the way that we work with our clients. Our practice has a relatively flat management structure with a high principal-to-staff ratio, and all staff are encouraged to participate in the management function. In our work with clients, the principals are 'hands on' and deeply involved in client work.
In 1994 Janet Slade and Sue Cooper formed the partnership, Slade & Cooper. Later James Gore-Langton joined them and in 2006 Slade & Cooper incorporated. In 2012 Katie Hall became a principal. After over twenty years, Janet has now retired after a stint at the Charity Commission, but retains close links with the firm.
Currently the firm consists of three principals: Katie Hall, Jennifer Chinwe Daniel and Christy Lau and the following employees: Kerry Osborne (office manager), Lauren Shuttleworth (trainee accountant) and Shanshan Zao (trainee manager). Many of us work part time so that we also have time for our families or other interests, in line with our mission statement commitment to provide a good working environment. We don't often work late - but we still have a fantastic record for meeting client and regulatory deadlines!
Slade and Cooper has expanded steadily over the years, and we are always interested in recruiting suitable staff at any level, from trainee accountant to audit manager. You would be joining a team where the partners and most of the staff have backgrounds in the not-for-profit sector and who are committed to working in this area.
