Worst company ever! They used to be good but lately their customer service is appalling. They no longer care about looking after their clients - they just want to take your money and leave you unhappy. Their telephone support is shocking! 3-4 day wait if you can get through - sometimes it just goes straight to voicemail! They switched our software off without warning even though it was paid for.
I was on holiday and it meant that my colleague was left with no software until I returned. I'll be looking elsewhere for software and suggest you avoid TaxCalc like the plague!

The recent updates to include Practice Manager Plus has caused major stability issues with the software. Previously the software was missing recurrence periods, now it's a combination of missing periods as well as duplicating them. Unfortunately it is not reliable to use as a task management tool anymore, which I can only assume it down to rushed updates and lack of testing.

We have been using Taxcalc software at our accountancy practice for over three years now and it is the best move we ever made. Because it is so user friendly all our staff are able to carry out various tasks using it not just the accountants. And very easy on the pocket too compared to other similar products.

I have used TaxCalc with success for many years. However, the 2019 version failed to save 3 days work. On speaking to support, apparently if you enter too many capital gains transactions it is a 'known issue' that from then on, nothing will be saved. Unfortunately this issue was not known to me and there is no warning about this within the software.
I have no idea when I will find the time and the patience to start again on the completion of three complicated tax returns. I will not trust this flaky software with my time and data in the future.

As Founder of Effective Accounting, when I set up my practice we used a well known compliance software and did so for many years. Prices kept increasing with support and service in decline. I considered TaxCalc for many months before finally making the move. I was fully looked after by the team and they managed the migration of data smoothly and efficiently. Creating accounts and tax returns is now an absolute breeze - I only wish I had moved sooner! I would recommend TaxCalc to any accountancy firm looking for highly functional software, great support and providing value for money.

Awful software solution, supposedly easy to use and quick, but the complete opposite! Mis-sold by sales staff on the phone - once we'd paid for the initial product, then told we had to upgrade to submit as a single company, then can only submit to Companies House not HMRC, so we then had to upgrade yet again to submit tax. Rubbish. Want to digitally sign? - that costs extra (there's 1 free, but if that's declined you have to buy more in bulk). Want to download your HMRC report? - that an extra license and costs more. And when it comes to submit to HMRC - it doesn't work and fails. Useless - Avoid!

I am an accountant and use TaxCalc for my growing 'start-up' accountancy practice. At first, I did not know who to choose but most of my peers recommended TaxCalc. I am so glad I was introduced to them, TaxCalc are not just desktop based; they also work in the cloud. Which is ideal for our office culture as we may not always be at our desks but are able to see clients or travel and work on accounts at the same time. The Practice Management tools are also simple yet effective and I would be lost without the dashboard stating my clients and upcoming deadlines. Thank you TaxCalc!
