The Tax Practice The convention used to be that the Chancellor was listened to in relative silence. Not any more. There were many measures in the budget which might have a large or small impact on your tax liability. The Tax Facts pages are being redesigned to reflect the changes some of which only take effect in two years' time. If you need help understanding these changes or any other tax or accounting matter please get in touch as soon as possible. Finding the right accountant or tax advisor can be a difficult process for small businesses.
Services
We are an independent firm specialising in tax and accounting for individuals and small businesses. Because we keep our overheads to a minimum we are able to charge much lower fees than you might expect whilst still providing an excellent personal service. Also we recognise that the working week is a busy time for you and you may not be able to break off to discuss your accounts or tax matters. If you prefer to meet in the evening or at a weekend, at home or your place of work, that's fine.
Tax Facts gives you a summary of the various rates, reliefs, limits and allowances which apply to the many taxes that can affect you and your business. The figures change each year and it is important to have up-to-date information for your calculations. However, the UK tax regime is more complicated than a handful of facts and figures is able to show. Please seek professional advice before taking any important decisions.
For those of you in work - employed, self-employed or running a company - tax will be one of your biggest expenses so keeping it as low as possible is very important. If you have savings or property income, tax can significantly reduce the return on your investment.
Companies House - limited companies are required by law to file annual accounts showing the results of the business activity for the period, and the state of the companies assets and liabilities at the period end. Inland Revenue - both companies and self employed individuals and partnerships are expected to have annual accounts to support the entries on the annual tax returns.
